Today we’re interviewing Ally in Iraq. Want to know more about how she came to be raising TCKs in the Middle East and what her family likes about Continental Kids? Keep reading!
Tell us a bit about yourself: I am an Aussie mama to three TCKs. I grew up in Brisbane and then moved to the Coast for a few years before leaving Australian soil and heading to South Asia. After a few years in South Asia we now call a mountain city in Northern Iraq home. I love coffee, books, blank journals, country drives and exploring new places! One of my favorite things to do with my kids is be outside somewhere soaking up this beautiful world we get to live in!
How did you hear about Continental Kids? Actually, Instagram I think! Somehow I found your insta page and that lead me to looking at the magazine.
How do you contribute? My daughter answered the 4 Kids, 4 Countries, 4 Questions in Issue 3: Journey. She loves writing and contributing to blogs etc, so enjoyed being able to share some thoughts about living this way. I also sent in a photo of my other daughter sitting in a suitcase full of lego for the Travel Hacks section.
Which is your favourite issue so far? Probably Issue 3: Journey. I loved seeing my daughter’s answers in the magazine and we also had a bit of fun with the how to draw a Monarch butterfly.
Why do your kids enjoy reading Continental Kids? My kids love reading about other kids living the same crazy life that they live and how their life is similiar/different from theirs. They also love having a magazine targeted at their unique position in life. The magazine is fun and they enjoy settling down with it for an afternoon and then doing the extra activities as well.
If you think you or your kids would like to contribute to the next issue of Continental Kids magazine, send us an email with your ideas to [email protected]
