STRESS & HEALTH // Hey Continental Kids families! STRESS & HEALTH // Hey Continental Kids families! Can I ask a favour? I’m currently writing a thesis on expat and repat stress and health. I’m seeking participants for an anonymous, online study that should take 20 mins or less to complete. If you are Australian aged 18 years or over you can participate, even if you have never lived overseas before. I’m hoping the results will create meaningful change in how we support the expats and repatriates in our midst. 🤗
If you are eligible could please follow the link in the bio to participate. If you know someone else who might be interested, please feel free to share the details. Thanks in advance!

FOR OR AGAINST FUNGUS? // Some Swiss friends told FOR OR AGAINST FUNGUS? // Some Swiss friends told me that in their country if you gather mushrooms in the woods, mushroom experts will check them at special inspection stations to confirm that they are edible. This free service greatly reduces the risk of Swiss people being poisoned by mushrooms they find in the woods.
The mushroom-foraging biz is highly regulated, however. It is forbidden to pick more than 1-2kg of mushrooms per day (depending on where you live), or between 8pm and 8am. You may also not pick mushrooms in groups of more than three adults who come from different families.
It all seems very foreign to me, as an Aussie who doesn't really like mushrooms. I'm pretty sure all fungus that grows around here is poisonous, and I wouldn't want to eat it anyway! The texture is too weird, and the smell of fried mushrooms? Blerghk.
How about you? Are you for or against mushrooms? How do you cook with them?
